A

As-Built Document

Definition

A description of the state of an IT system as implemented. Where a Design Document provides the technical specification of a system to be constructed, an As-Built Document outlines the deployed system in detail, including hardware specifications, serial numbers, MAC & WWN addresses, host and domain names, software versions, patch levels, configuration settings, and system resources. It is not a Runbook, which is a procedural guide for how to install and configure a system, and to maintain it at runtime.
