Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC)
The Information Technology Advisory Council is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Commonwealth and the Secretary of Administration regarding information technology in the Commonwealth. The structure of ITAC is codified in Code of Virginia, and its powers and duties are set forth in Code of Virginia § 2.2-2699.6. ITAC was reorganized by Chapter 260 and Chapter 261 of the 2022 Acts of Assembly.
Identity Management Standards Advisory Council (IMSAC)
The Identity Management Standards Advisory Council was moved to the Secretary of Commerce and Trade during the 2021 General Assembly Special Session I.
Virginia's Cybersecurity Planning Committee (VCPC)
The Commonwealth of Virginia’s cybersecurity planning committee was created pursuant to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Pub. L. No. 117-58, § 70612 (2021), and Item 93(F) of Virginia’s 2022 Appropriation Act, fulfilling key requirements for the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program.
The committee is responsible for a number of key actions including:
- Developing and adopting the Commonwealth’s cybersecurity plan;
- Obtaining input from a wide variety of stakeholders; and
- Building the consensus necessary to ensure the grant program can advance cybersecurity across the Commonwealth.
