VITA Gives Day is an annual, 24-hour fundraising event where employees are asked to support sponsored charities.

This year, our sponsored charities were the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the 2024 Southwest Virginia Disaster Relief Fund by United Way of Southwest Virginia and Shriners Hospitals for Children. These charities were chosen by winners of Halloween costume and desk decorating contests.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge and advocating for patients.

The 2024 Southwest Virginia Disaster Relief Fund by United Way of Southwest Virginia is a special fund activated to assist those impacted by the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

Shriners Hospitals for Children’s mission is to provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.

Thanks to the giving spirit of our team, we collected a total of $1,370! We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to these worthy causes.

VITA Gives Day is part of the annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), the nonprofit fundraising program for state employees to make charitable donations.

Employees can donate through payroll deduction, credit card and direct giving. We also encourage donations through events such as VITA Gives Day. This year we hosted other events such as a silent auction to benefit the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and bake and craft sales to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
