Streamline state employee forms through workflow automation
VITA has embarked on a project to centralize and automate forms used by all executive branches. The first form to be converted in this initiative is a collaboration with the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) to automate the state employee telework form. The telework form is used by classified employees subject to the state telework policy.
The overall automated forms initiative will:
- Standardize key business functions across the Commonwealth
- Provide valuable data for metrics that can be analyzed in real time
- Save agencies time spent creating and maintaining their own forms and processes
- Provides visibility throughout the process
This digital solution will be available for use by all executive branch agencies and aims to create efficiency and cost savings. DHRM has provided interim guidance on the COV Application- Telework Agreement.

Centralizing form automation
A VITA-built system that will provide workflow, notifications and dashboards (future release). The system will standardize business functions, collect valuable data for metrics, create process visibility and save agencies time. State telework form automation capabilities now available!
VITA and the Department of Human Resource Management forged a joint partnership to automate the state telework form. The form is available to all executive branch agencies. Please work with your agency's human resource team to coordinate adoption.

VITA and the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) have partnered to automate the state employee telework form. The goal of this initiative is to streamline a paper form requiring multiple levels of approval signatures to easy-to-use workflow automation.
This initiative will provide centralized form processing and eliminate circulating different versions of the same form and remove various collection methods and inconsistent data. VITA has created a system that will provide agencies workflows, notifications and dashboards (future release). These tools will:
- Standardize key business functions across the Commonwealth
- Provide valuable data for metrics that can be analyzed in real time
- Save agencies time spent creating and maintaining their own forms and processes
- Provides visibility throughout the process
The results will create efficiency for agencies and end users, and eliminate unnecessary costs.
The telework form will be available starting June 2023. Your agency's human resources will share information specific to your agency soon.
