VITA’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) team hosted activities throughout October to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, collecting $532 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

VITA team members dressed in pink, participated in a walk, purchased pink ribbon pins to show support and attended a presentation on breast cancer awareness. The presentation covered screening information, types of breast cancer, genetic predisposition, treatment types and support options for those affected. We also hosted two craft and bake sales, where employees donated goods to be sold.

This event was part of the annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), the non-profit fundraising program for state employees to make charitable donations throughout the year. Learn more about the CVC here.
