These two roles on the Commonwealth security risk management (CSRM) team involve working on risk-based IT security audits for agencies electing to use VITA’s centralized IT security audit service. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to learn about, support and help protect many operations within the Commonwealth.

 

IT category manager

This position provides leadership and program management within VITA’s supply chain management statewide sourcing and category management directorate to develop, implement and manage strategic and operational initiatives for the software and IT solutions category of VITA’s statewide contracts. This position will devise a category strategy that will maximize the Commonwealth’s purchasing power and value of over 50 IT statewide contracts that benefit state agencies and other public bodies.

 

Application modernization manager

This new role will lead the cloud modernization practice within our enterprise and cloud solutions division. The position is responsible for utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud services to deliver strategic modernization approaches to Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) agencies. A key goal of this position is assisting COV agencies with technical debt reduction leveraging cloud services.

 

Junior security architect

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented junior security architect to join our security architecture team. In this role, they will support the development, implementation and maintenance of security architecture standards across the COV. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles who is eager to grow in the field.

 

Deputy chief information security officer (CISO), finance lead

This individual is responsible for establishing, directing, and maintaining the vision, strategy, and program for information security of the finance executive agencies to protect critical information assets and technologies. They will work with the secretary of finance to coordinate efforts across the finance executive agencies with input from finance independent agencies and other Commonwealth agencies.

 

Legal compliance & policy specialist II

We are seeking a lawyer to provide internal legal and compliance guidance and support in subject areas
relevant to VITA business units, including contracts, human resources/employment, procurement, FOIA and records, and data privacy and security.

Employee relations human resources business partner (HRBP)

Apply by June 18

Some of this individual’s responsibilities will include managing and resolving employee relations issues, providing conflict resolution, mediating and resolving employee conflicts to foster a positive and collaborative work environment. They will also partner with the agency’s legal department to conduct investigations to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

 

HRBP - talent acquisition

This individual will be tasked with building relationships with employees at all levels of the agency. The HRBP will develop and drive improvements to the HR practices, focused on the hiring process and its efficiency. This position will also work as a consultant and guide for managers through the talent acquisition process and consult on a variety of topic ranging from partnering with cross functional teams, sourcing, outreach and classification/compensation to build and deliver solutions ensuring a fair, equitable and efficient selection process.
