Container

Definition

(Context: Virtual Server)

A packaging format that encapsulates a set of software with its dependencies and runs in a virtual server environment with minimal OS. Therefore, it is a form of virtualization. The difference between VM's and containers is that each VM has its own full sized OS, while containers have a minimal OS.
