Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Definition

(Context: Technology Management)


A practice whereby an organization permits employees to use personally owned smart devices to conduct business, rather than being required to use an employer-provided device. Also called Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT), Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP), and Bring Your Own Personal Computer (BYOPC).
