It is intended for the CPM Qualified PM to take this course 1-2 months prior to being designated as the project manager of a Commonwealth-level (>$250,000 project cost) project.
This course is designed for IT project managers who will be responsible for managing Commonwealth-level IT projects and following the processes and documentation described in the Project Management Standard. The course will focus on Waterfall methodology but will include some agile concepts. After completing this course students will be prepared to lead agency level and Commonwealth level 4 projects.

Commonwealth IT Project Manager Overview training will be presented quarterly. All IT project managers and project sponsors of Commonwealth IT projects must attend the Commonwealth IT Project Manager Overview training. There is no pre-qualification test for required training.

Commonwealth Technology Portfolio for Project Managers Training
Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) for Project Managers training will be presented quarterly (targeted for February, May, August and November.) All IT project managers must attend the training prior to managing a Commonwealth IT project. The Commonwealth IT Project Manager Overview training is a prerequisite for this training.
In the CTP for Project Managers training, project managers will learn to:
