VITA welcomes new intern cohort

VITA interns Summer 2026

We are excited to have the 2026 intern cohort working at VITA this summer.

One of VITA's emerging talent programs, the internship program is where college students gain unique experience at the intersection of technology and government.

This 10-week internship has been consistently recognized by previous interns and Virginia's state government as a beneficial program for college students.

Selected from a pool of more than 300 applicants, this year's 18 interns hail from a diverse set of colleges, including Virginia Tech, Purdue University and the University of San Francisco.

In their respective roles, interns apply knowledge learned in class to real-world scenarios, spanning from cybersecurity to supply chain management to administration. Being immersed in a state agency office prepares interns to potentially continue their careers in government as the next generation's leaders.

Interns learn from experienced team members and managers, making valuable connections as they work on both collaborative and individual projects. By attending meetings, interns also gain confidence and practice communicating their ideas in a professional setting.

We can't wait to see what this year's interns will accomplish during their time at VITA – and afterward.
