The Commonwealth of Virginia Innovative Technology Symposium (COVITS) is Sept. 16-17!

COVITS 2025 will bring together more than 1,000 public sector leaders and technology professionals to learn, network, celebrate successes and gain new insights into Virginia’s next big plays in technology.

During this two-day experience, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from an impressive lineup of tech experts and leaders who are shaping the future of technology, both globally and across the Commonwealth. Attendees will receive real-world insights that can be applied to their policy, operations and service delivery.

Keynote speakers

This front-row seat to Virginia’s technology evolution will begin on Sept. 16 with a keynote by Shawnee Delaney, Founder and CEO of the Vaillance Group. Shawnee's keynote, “The Art of Espionage: Understanding the Fundamentals of Spycraft,” dives deep into the clandestine world of spying and its implications for your organization. This presentation will equip you with the knowledge to detect and defend against espionage, whether you're facing a human operative or a cyber threat.

On Sept. 17, Nikolas Badminton, Chief Futurist at futurist.com, will help us see trends shaping our world, and anticipate how we can uncover new opportunities in his keynote “Think Like a Futurist: Turning Trends into Opportunities.” This session will help attendees develop foresight to address the most common challenges facing the public sector: evolving constituent expectations, emerging tech, sustainability, misinformation, privacy, security, global megatrends, and domestic shifts in economies, workforces and societal movements.
