Job Description: Oversee, lead, and support technical projects for the Internal IT department at VITA, including the management of various critical, complex, and large portfolios and projects for the business units within the agency. Assure VITA technical projects adhere to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), analysis and application development standards, and business processes to manage the full application development life cycle; Commonwealth Project Management Standards and Guidelines to include reporting using the Commonwealth’s Technology Portfolio (CTP); security and other Commonwealth of Virginia security, data and other standards/processes, industry best practices as well as following Internal IT processes and requirements. Responsible for Project Scope, Time, Cost, Communication, Project Personnel Resources, Stakeholder, Organizational Change and Procurement Management in addition to VITA’s PMD Major and non-major project compliance. Oversee, establish, and execute strategy and work plans for the technical and implementation development teams to meet changing needs and requirements. May require interaction with all levels of government, vendor community, VITA’s internal managers, customers, and the public. May also work with VITA's & Governor's Office & Enterprise Services management to assist in managing the VITA Application Project Portfolio, as requested.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field plus 5 years of experience as an IT Project Manager or Project Management experience.
