VITA has released a request for proposals (RFP) for managed public cloud services on Sept. 7, 2023. This marks the completion of another major milestone in VITA’s evolution of the multisupplier service model.

Scope of the RFP included:

  • Suppliers will be responsible for managing the Commonwealth’s public cloud services environments for Microsoft Azure, Google cloud platform (GCP) and Oracle cloud infrastructure (OCI), as an integrated service tower supplier within VITA’s multisupplier model. The addition of this service represents a new service tower in our multisupplier model. Our updated approach will add flexibility and agility in how agencies manage their cloud workloads.

VITA would like to extend appreciation to more than 30 staff members who participated in the development of the RFP. The team comprised of both VITA and eight agencies who participated in the development of the RFP. The quality of the sourcing process has a direct relationship to the quality of future IT infrastructure services. It is critical to have VITA and agencies fully engaged to ensure business needs are met.

As a reminder, the RFP will follow procurement standards and confidentiality is a must. Should you receive any inquiries related to the RFP, please direct them to the RFP's single point of contact, Matthew Fritzinger.
