After the completion of a competitive procurement, VITA has awarded the contract for mainframe services to Peraton State and Local, Inc. The awarding of this contract continues our journey of modernizing the Commonwealth’s infrastructure. 

Peraton currently holds the mainframe services contract and will continue to provide these services without disruption to customers. The cutover date from the incumbent contract to the new contract is June 1.  

Refresh and implementation activities are planned, including security information and event management (SIEM) implementation and dedicated circuit diversity in the third quarter of this year, with hardware refresh expected by the fall of this year. 

Representatives from the impacted agencies -- the Departments of Social Services and Motor Vehicles -- and VITA subject matter experts developed the requirements and the request for proposal. We want to thank them for the in-depth review and evaluation of the proposals submitted and the valuable time and expertise required from both agencies and VITA staff.
