Kids Safe Online Poster Contest

VITA congratulates Melia of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on being named a 2021 national K-12 poster contest winner!

The Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) is the focal point for cyber threat prevention, protection, response and recovery for the nation’s state, local territory and tribal (SLTT) governments.

Grade 12 - Melia (Spotsylvania High School). The COVID-19 pandemic created an elevated focus towards the digital environment this year and the center went a different route with the contest. By adapting and embracing this shift, they created a new avenue to distribute educational and interactive resources -- a new Cyber Safety activity book. Each national winner’s artwork will be showcased, in honor of October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Plaques and awards to all 13 winners will also be given.

The Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) conducts a national K-12 poster contest.

The goal of the contest is to engage young people in creating posters to encourage other young people to use the Internet safely and securely. All public, private or home schooled students in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to participate.

The top five Virginia winners from each grade group (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) will be entered into the national competition. Entries received may be used in national, regional and state cyber and computer security awareness campaigns. Entries for the 2022 contest are due January 12, 2022.

Schools may submit entries to the Commonwealth of Virginia competition by email

Submissions are due January 12, 2022. Email submissions to CommonwealthSecurity@VITA.virginia.gov. A parent may submit their entries for home schooled students directly to MS-ISAC. The official rules and topic suggestions are included with the entry form. Please include the following entry form completely filled out (all fields are required) when submitting the poster.
