The integrated services program (ISP) will be hosting a series of town hall meetings in late April and throughout May. The purpose of these meetings is to share the planning process developed to create the next editions of the 9-1-1 comprehensive plan and the Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN) strategic plan. At these meetings, ISP staff will review the process created to develop these plans and vet with our stakeholders. A robust discussion with members of the public safety answering points (PSAP) and geographic information system (GIS) communities will provide feedback on the current state of 9-1-1 and GIS, as well as issues impacting the future.
Participation is critical; please attend one of the following meetings listed below:
April 29th - Farmville - 1 pm to 4 pm - Register here
May 1st - Front Royal - 10 am to 1 pm - Register here
May 2nd - Yorktown - 9 am to noon - Register here
May 13th - Verona - 9 am to noon - Register here
June 5th - Abingdon - 1 pm to 4 pm - Register here
June 6th - Roanoke - 9 am to noon - Register here
In the past, the ISP has held separate town hall meetings with the PSAP and GIS communities. Since the deployment of NG9-1-1 in Virginia, we believe a better approach is to bring both communities together in the planning process. We look forward to working with the 9-1-1 and GIS communities to create the next editions of the plans for our respective disciplines.
