Juneteenth

The Virginia IT Agency proudly celebrates and observes Juneteenth. Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when the last remaining enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned of their freedom, established by the Emancipation Proclamation over two years before. It is a historical day of recognition, restoration and celebration.
