To order phones or services, your designated Telecommunications Coordinator must submit a Telecommunciations Service Request (TSR):  Equipment changes regularly.  Ordering a phone that not listed on the VITA Web Site is not prohibited but may delay your order until pricing can be verified.

Pooling:  Agencies may establish pools via the TSR process.  The following rules currently apply:

  • All members of a pool must have the same plan and that plan must be designated as a "Pool" plan.
  • At the present time, there can only be one pool, per plan type, per billable entity (i.e. an entity may have only one 500 minute pool)
  • A pool (other than V&D) can mix Blackberry/Smartphones and normal voice phones
  • An entity must have 5 phones to start a pool.

For order status, contact the VITA Customer Care Center (VCCC). When calling for order status, select the option for The VITA Telecommunications Services Center.

For additional Phone Accessories (i.e. car chargers, holsters, etc), please utilize either eVA or your local purchasing procedures (localities) to acquire these devices from either Verizon or 3rd party sources.  Do Not acquire these items from a Verizon Store and have them charge the the account for these items.

Additional Plans or Services:  The contract with Verizon contains some additional products and services not listed on this page.  If you need to know about additional service offerings, contact one of the Verizon Account Representative listed above.

Data Access from Phones:  Data access (i.e. downloading ringtones, web applications, etc) from phones will be blocked by default.  Users or agencies wishing data access should select a data plan for the phone which will allow access to these features.
