What software is included in the desktop application software referenced on the list?

Desktop software - shrink wrapped or prepackaged software that is not a part of the bundled software products provided by NG.

What software items should be V coded and processed by VITA?

In-scope Infrastructure & Enterprise applications, regardless of amount, such as:

Oracle, Peoplesoft, WebSphere, DB2 , Toad, etc.

Products previously renewed and maintained by VITA.

How should software license, maintenance and support renewals be processed?

These requisitions should continue to be V coded and come through VITA for processing.

Is there a contract that should be used to procure Microsoft products?

YES. Microsoft products such as Project, Visio that are not on the standard image must be procured from SHI International Corp (SHI) under VA-070907-SHI. SHI is the Large Account Reseller of Microsoft products for the Commonwealth and also a SWAM supplier.

How do I order non-networked laptops or computers?

Non-NG supported computers must be approved as an exception by your Customer Account Manager. The requisition must come through VITA (V coded).

How do I order iPADs or other tablets?

These items should be submitted through eVA using the V code and will be processed by VITA.

Do I have to use a VITA statewide contract for purchases under $5,000?

Yes, if the product or service is available off of a statewide contract. Please see the new VITA Authority and Delegation policy.
