2012 State Agency GIS User Survey
In the Summer of 2012 VGIN performed a survey of Commonwealth Agencies and Bodies about their use of GIS and mapping technologies. Results were presented at the 2012 Virginia GIS Conference and are available here as well.
2011 Locality GIS Survey
In the fall of 2011 VGIN sent out a Locality GIS Baseline Survey to gather information about the GIS capabilities and use of GIS services by Virginia’s localities. These survey results will be a valuable tool to help VGIN assess the Commonwealth’s current state of GIS as well as to help identify future needs. Questions or comments can be directed to VGIN or the ISP Regional Coordinators.
Complete survey results can be viewed here.
Some of the results have been mapped.
The 2010-2015 GIS Strategic Plan came out of extensive work with stakeholders and will guide VGIN over the next 5 years.
