Systems up after internal power interruption at CESC

Date Posted: Monday, February 2, 2015

As of this morning, all citizen-facing and public safety systems are working following an internal power interruption Friday night at the Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center (CESC). The most critical systems were activated first. The internal power interruption occurred within the computer room itself, thus bypassing redundant systems. Power was restored within 20 minutes. The outage occurred during a planned annual test of the fire suppression system. Because power was restored quickly, available systems were not cut over to the back-up data center in Russell County but were restored in place at CESC.
