Governors Discuss Better Coordination, Establishing Protocols to Improve Cybersecurity

Gov. McAuliffe facilitated a panel discussion on the challenges and next steps states face in the cybersecurity landscape last Saturday at the National Governors Association winter meeting. In the discussion, Gov. McAuliffe called for coordination and establishment of basic cybersecurity protocols among all states. He citied the more than 86 million cyberattacks against Virginia alone in 2016 as reason for the need to bolster protections and vulnerability assessments.
